EROS & PSYCHE, a new comedy

I had a fabulous time working again with director and choreographer, Shela Xoregos on the new comedy, EROS & PSYCHE by Donna Spector this past July. My first introduction to the play was a well attended public reading in February, a chilly day with snow flurries, at the beautiful Jefferson Market Library. We all met a couple months later at Shela’s apartment to discuss adding music, and other general details. The first notes I penned (penciled actually) were for scene 1, the wonderful opening scene, where we find Psyche in the garden counting stars. Each pitch was derived from the star’s number: 5,034… 5,035. And wouldn’t you know, they created a beautiful celestial sound world. You can hear that, and excerpts of the west wind music, the choral music that opens Act 2, the sheep’s song, and Eros & Psyche’s duet, in the video below, made at the Flushing Library Theater in Queens.
